毛泽东纸老虎论
美国众议院议长佩洛西亚洲之行会否访台湾引起紧张局势，随着佩洛西亚洲之行的第一站是新加坡后，中国外交部发言人华春莹8 月1 日再度在推特上再度向外国网友科普“纸老虎”的含义。
华春莹在社交媒体再度科普“纸老虎”：“Now U.S. imperialism is quite powerful, but in reality it isnt. It is very weak politically because it is divorced from the masses of the people and is disliked by everybody and by the American people too. ”
（现在美帝国主义很强，不是真的强。它政治上很弱，因为它脱离广大人民，大家都不喜欢它，美国人民也不喜欢它。）

1956年7月14日，毛泽东同两位拉丁美洲人士谈话，做出了“美帝国主义是纸老虎”的论断。
在这次谈话中，毛泽东说：“（美帝国主义）外表很强，实际上不可怕，纸老虎。外表是个老虎，但是，是纸的，经不起风吹雨打。我看美国就是个纸老虎。”

这是华春莹第二次在推特上向外国网友科普“纸老虎”。7月30日，她也发文介绍“‘纸老虎’的真正来源和定义”，并在配图中介绍了毛泽东1946年关于“纸老虎”的论断。
