本届大选，很多在外地或在外国工作的选民，也特地赶回乡投票。
其中从新加坡及吉隆坡返回家乡投票的选民包括黄琡婷（32岁）、黄琡惠（29岁）、符丽滢（25岁）及骆盈祯（24岁），她们都是首投族，她们对于首次投票感到兴奋。

另外，中华中学投票站，共设有10条投票渠道，包括专为乐龄人士设立的渠道，但却没有为首投族设立特别渠道包括18岁的选民。
