首相兼财长安华说，我国放眼在2026年，将财政赤字降至3.5%。

他说，政府继续削减财政赤字，从2022年的5.5%降至2023年的5%、2024年的4.1%，以及在2025年达到3.8%。
他说，减少赤字意味着新增债务的数额将下降，从2022年的1000亿令吉降至2023年的920亿令吉；到2024年的770亿令吉；再到2025年的770亿令吉。
他说，只要继续保持纪律，中期财政赤字可以达到3%。
