声明说，美国在当天进行的测试中使用配备新型AN/TPY-6雷达和垂直发射装置的“宙斯盾”反导系统发射了一枚“标准-3 Block 2A”型导弹，在关岛安德森空军基地海岸附近拦截了一枚空射型中程弹道导弹。
美国导弹防御局表示，这是增强关岛防御的“重要一步”，其数据将为建立未来关岛防御系统提供帮助。
