槟州首长曹观友指出，被取名为“矽谷岛”（Silicon Island）的槟城南部填海计划A岛，预计在今年12月初完成4至5英亩的填土面积。
他周五提呈2024年槟州财政预算案时说，槟城南部填海计划A岛自今年9月22日开始动工，涉及范围为2300英亩。
此外，曹观友说，在2023年及2024年，槟州政府在社会影响管理计划（SIMP）下，耗资了3800万令吉，为受南部填海计划影响的渔民提供特惠金援助或购买新渔船。
槟州政府自2020年宣布为受南部填海计划影响的渔民提供社会影响管理计划后，截至今年10月杪，共有266渔民已经受惠。
他说，截至今年年尾，预计有338名登记社会影响管理计划的渔民，符合资格的渔民将会获得槟政府发放的特惠金援助（ex-gratia）。
“其余登记社会影响管理计划的渔民，也会在接下来发放特惠金援助。”
