甲州政府秘书证实苏莱曼已呈辞，新任首长本周五宣誓就职。
尽管巫统主席拿督斯里阿末扎希博士周三（29日）证实马六甲首席部长拿督斯里苏莱曼已呈辞职信，但也是林鲁区州议员的苏莱曼周四（30日）早上8时59分仍如常现身爱极乐州政府行政大厦的首长办公室。
不过，无法确定苏莱曼是继续履行首长的职务，或只是会见其职员。
大批媒体从早上就守在州政府大厦入口处，苏莱曼于上午11时乘坐官车离开办公室时，没有接受媒体访问，只是打开车窗双手合十示意。

随着周五（31日）将举行新任甲州首长宣誓就职仪式的传闻通过WhatsApp应用程式流传，更换甲首长的传闻甚嚣尘上，而传言接任首长的人选是丹绒比拉拉州议员兼巫统马六甲联委会主席拿督斯里阿都拉勿。
另一边厢，甲州议会反对党领袖兼国民联盟甲州主席莫哈末雅兹今天发文告说，他尊重苏莱曼呈辞，并感谢他在位期间的劳苦功高。
“我和其他国盟州议员继续致力于成为有威信的反对党，我们将充当制衡甲州政府的良好作用，继续为人民发声和斗争。”
