日本天气反常，酷暑暴雨夹击。东京市区周二（16日）气温再破35度，为今年第16次出现“猛暑日”，再创当地观测史纪录新高。然后，北海道则有地方半天下了往年一整个月的雨量。
气象厅表示，关东地方等内陆地区气温持续升高，枥木县佐野市最高温达摄氏38.8度，埼玉县鸠山町高达37.9度。东京市中心亦观测到36.4度高温。
至于北海道则从周一（15日）晚间起，两个城镇的12小时最大累计雨量创观测史纪录新高，今金町累计雨量达190.5毫米，奥尻町亦达162毫米，超过该地往年8月一整个月的雨量。
