据cricketaddictor等外媒网站报道，2028年洛杉矶奥运会将9个项目列为候选比赛项目名单，分别是板球、霹雳舞、棒垒球、空手道、腰旗橄榄球、棍网球、自由搏击、壁球和摩托车项目。
尽管距离2028年洛杉矶奥运会开幕还有6年时间，但洛杉矶奥运会已经确立了28个比赛大项，这些大项成为正式的比赛项目，其中包括游泳、田径、羽毛球、乒乓球、体操、高尔夫、排球、足球、橄榄球等项目。除了正式的28个大项，还有9个项目在候选名单中，有消息称，2023年的孟买会议上将决定哪些项目能够正式入围。
