周三（27日）提呈国会的2021年反贩卖人口及反贩运移民修正法案严打罪犯，刑法从最高20年监禁或罚款或两者兼施，加重至无期徒刑另加鞭笞。
内政部副部长拿督斯里依斯迈沙益本日在下议院提呈该法案一读。
根据法案，官员在执行公务时贩运移民，将被列为罪加一等，而贩运移民刑罚将从最高15年监禁，调高至最高20年监禁。

至于过境贩卖人口刑罚，也将从最高7年监禁，加重至最高15年监禁。

这项法案旨在确保2007年反贩卖人口及反贩运移民法令符合《巴勒莫议定书》及《东盟打击贩运人口特别是妇女和儿童公约》（ACTIP）的要求。
依斯迈沙益指出，此法案将在本次国会会议二读。
