首相丹斯里慕尤丁坦言，他对当前的政治发展感到痛心，“我必须坦白的说，作为一个人，我肯定难免有不足之处，特别是我作为首相管理超过一年的疫情。”

他说，国盟政府的合法性是由多数议员支持定夺，尽管有阁员撤回对他的支持，但眼前的事实是，没有任何一名议员，获得多数议员的支持。
他周五（13日）偕同阁员透过线上直播，针对当前的政治局势作出解释，以及要求各方予以他全力的支持，并强调本身的当务之急是确保政府的运作顺利进行，从而协助国家从新冠疫情中复苏。
他说，作为一个负责任的政府，在面对严峻挑战的疫情，政府必须确保所有的计划如期落实，并估计今年10月疫情将好转。
