法国传奇时装设计大师Pierre Cardin今日于巴黎西诺伊利的医院逝世，终年98岁，消息由其家族成员向法新社发出。
被誉为“20世纪欧洲最成功的设计师”，Pierre Cardin以前卫风格和太空时代的设计而闻名。1922年出生，Pierre Cardin曾经3度获得法国时装界最高荣誉“金顶针奖”，1974年荣登《时代》杂志封面，曾为Christian Dior效力的他，1951年自创个人同名品牌，提出“时装必须大众化”，颠覆传统，被誉为Space Age风格的时尚先驱，并在女性主导的时装界下推动男装发展，为高级男士服装设计奠下根基。
他的创意无远弗届，作品由服装设计、室内设计、建筑、家具、日常用品到汽车等无所不有，80年代他更踏入饮食业，将百年餐厅Maxim’s收入麾下，成为当代名流聚集之地。如今大师高寿离世，固然可惜，但其作品和故事将继续流传。
