中国驻尼日利亚大使周平剑于周二与尼日利亚外交部长奥尼亚马针对近期在华尼日利亚公民在广州疑遭不当对待的事件，举行联合记者会，双方称事件纯属误会。
奥尼亚马表示，事件起因广州一间饭店的女老板确诊，而该饭店是尼日利亚和其他一些非洲人经常光顾的地方，当地政府于是关闭饭店，并隔离包括非洲人在内的密切接触者。
尼日利亚国内民众却仅根据社交媒体流传的影片，误以为该国和其他非洲人被针对。
奥尼亚马又称，尼日利亚驻广州总领馆已跟当地政府沟通合作，做好说服解释，让相关人士理解防控举措的需要，目前在广州接受隔离的尼日利亚公民已得到妥善安排。
周平剑表示，中国对所有外国在华人士一视同仁，反对任何针对特定人群的差异做法，对歧视言行更是零容忍，强调尼日利亚和其他非洲国家的合理关切已经或者正得到有效解决。
他指出，在广州的尼日利亚和非洲公民在防疫方面是高风险群体，他们的健康与安全面临挑战，必须通过全面排查、全部检测等方式对他们和其他市民的健康负责。
