医学科学部于周一完成了整个外显子组测序，并将数据上传到 GISAID 的数据库。

BA 2.75 子变体首次出现在印度，并已传播到世界各地。此后，科学家们收集了 338 个样本用于全外显子组测序。
他们发现 BA 2.75 可能会逃避早期感染或疫苗提供的免疫力。建议患者根据他们感染的亚变种使用单克隆抗体。
但特别的一点是，BA 2.75 于 6 月在印度传播，但预计将在“短时间内”克服。因为科学家认为，这是因为印度之前曾经历过 BA.2 感染，因此增强的免疫力可能会阻止疾病传播。
