吉打州务大臣拿督斯里莫哈末沙努西改口说，若政党与选举委员会做好准备，可以提早举行全国大选。
他赞同伊党主席丹斯里哈迪阿旺所说，若要建立稳定的政府，就必须尽快举行大选。
“所有政党早已做好准备应对大选，只是目前情况还不允许举行大选，因为我国仍面对冠病疫情，处于复苏经济阶段，不过这还要视选举委员会是否已做好大选准备工作”。
他说，对于伊党而言，已准备好随时应对大选，并有信心可以取得胜利。
他是于周日（26日）上午出席见证北马经济走廊执行机构与吉打州发展局签署及交换合作备忘录后，在记者会上如此表示。他早前多次表明不同意提早举行全国大选。
针对伊党是否使用国盟旗帜上阵来届大选，莫哈末沙努西表示，在过去马六甲及柔佛州选举，伊党都是使用国盟旗帜上阵。无论如何，他说，一切事项将带到国盟最高理事会商议决定。
他认为无论使用国盟或伊党旗帜都是可以接受，最终还是取决于领导层决定。
