槟岛市政厅执法员周六（14日）晚在旧关仔角一带展开取缔行动，充公非法业者的一批电动滑板车。
民众一旦被发现在道路上使用被禁止的特定微型交通工具，包括电动滑板车，将视为触犯1987年陆路交通法令（333法令），违者最高可罚款300令吉。

交通部长拿督斯里魏家祥早前宣布，特定微型交通工具，包括电动或人力滑板车，禁止在公路上行驶。
槟岛市政厅指，当局并没有发出发出任何执照给出租滑板车的商家。
滑板车只能在被允许或宪报的合适地点使用，如游乐场丶购物中心周边安全地区，或得到市厅允许的地点，而且不可打扰其他道路使用者。
