一批相信来自缅甸难民营269名罗兴亚难民，在海上乘船将近4个月，周日凌晨4时20分登陆在浮罗交怡直落尼蒙海滩。
据《大都会日报》报道指出，269名罗兴亚难民当中，有80名男子、138名女子、26名男童及23名女童，此外警方也在浮罗交怡海域发现一具罗兴亚难民尸体，警方已将遗体送往医院解剖。
消息说，他们之中53人在船只沉没后跳入海中，其中一人因而死亡，9名涉嫌贩运难民的舵手或船员，相信是将难民送到到大马的海域后弃船，再乘坐另一艘船只逃离。

“该艘船只相信是来自科克斯巴扎尔（Cox’s Bazar）难民营，耗时将近4个月时间抵达浮罗交怡。”

消息说，该艘船疑载有超过500名难民，其中200人被指在行程中死亡，而执法单位尚在调查此事；所有的难民已被带往勿鲁马六甲海事基地进行记录工作。
据了解，执法单位将在近期内针对罗兴亚难民登陆事件召开记者会。
