莫哈末阿里周四受委为马六甲州元首，任期4年。
国家元首苏丹阿都拉陛下今天在国家王宫，颁发第7任马六甲州元首委任状予丹斯里莫哈末阿里。
莫哈末阿里是甲州前首席部长，他的任期从今天起为期4年，取代今天任期届满的敦卡立耶谷。
陛下颁发委任状后，也颁发护国领袖荣誉勋章予莫哈末阿里，拥有此勋章者将受封为“敦”。

70岁的莫哈末阿里来自武吉卡迪，1999年至2013年出任甲州首长。
