美国副总统彭斯周五表示，在停靠于旧金山外海的“至尊公主”号邮轮上，首批接受新型冠状病毒检测的46名乘客和船员中，有21人的检测结果呈阳性反应。

当局是在周四派直升机把病毒试剂盒投放到船上，让船上46人接受检测。在21名确诊患者中，有19人为船员，2人为乘客。另有1人的病毒检测结果为“不确定”，24人的样本则对病毒呈阴性反应。
在接受检测前，乘客均被要求留在房内。邮轮现载有3533名船员和乘客。
一名来自加州普莱瑟县的71岁男性乘客2月10日乘坐“至尊公主”号从旧金山前往墨西哥，21日回到旧金山。他在周二确诊新冠肺炎，周三病逝。
