玻璃市麦当劳（McDonald’s Kangar）与州卫生局合作，从本月1日开始，履行企业社会责任，在餐馆内准备一桶白开水让顾客饮用，提倡健康饮水，减少饮用高糖分饮料。
玻州卫生局局长西拉祖丁医生接受电访时说，这是当局属下食品组的一项试验项目，并不是因为天气炎热干燥而进行，而是主要鼓励玻州民众健康饮水。
他说，当局也有向州内其他快餐店，如肯德基（KFC）及Marrybrown建议，不过，业者皆表示需要经过与高层讨论。
西拉祖丁: 这是卫生局属下食品组的一项试验项目，主要鼓励玻州民众健康饮水。
他表示，当局不会强制性地要州内快餐店，都必须进行这项免费提供白开水运动。
无论如何，他并不确定该间玻璃市麦当劳是否为全国及全玻首个与卫生局合作提供免费白开水给顾客的快餐店。
他希望玻州麦当劳能持之以恒，协助当局向玻州民众提倡健康饮水。
记者前往玻州麦当劳了解详情时，发现餐馆外挂着横幅，通知顾客有免费提供一杯白开水。
据了解，免费提供白开水的时间是每日清晨7时至下午3时。
