Ferry Line Venture公司人力资源及运作经理巴哈里指出，客船从吉打港口码头出发8海里后决定折返，这项决定是由船长所作出以确保乘客的安全。

他说，该公司已经把船票退还给乘客，有些乘客将船票换成周六上午7时。
“在上周利奇马台风尾扫过我国发生风灾，给予所有人警惕包括我们公司，以便谨慎应对恶劣的天气”。

他也说，这项客船折返的决定是首次作出，因为不想冒险而危害乘客的安全。
